The Snowy Owls

The Snowy Owls

All photos were taken at the Ecomuseum Zoo.
With the exception of the first photo with Casper, all photos are in the order of my visits, from the year 2015 to 2018.

The photos from May 20, 2016 look alike, but look at Casper's claws, it's fascinating how a Snowy Owl hides its claws with its feathers.

When I told my friend Mouhcine Laghzal that I was working on three projects, he said to me: "Sylvie, let me help you." So I gladly accepted his help. The colors in the photos from March 22, 2018 were very pale, almost b & w photos. With Mouhcine adjustments the feathers and the owl's eyes had found colors!!!

A HUGE THANK YOU to you Mouhcine
for your excellent work & your friendship 🙂!
The length of the male is 53.1 - 70.7 cm and that of the female is 63 - 76.7 cm. The weight of the male is 1612.9 g and that of the female is 1706.7 g. The wingspan of the male is 157.7 cm and 164.4 cm for the female.

The record for longevity in the wild is 10 years and 28 years in captivity.
